What is SCMEA?
The Suffolk County Music Educator's Association (SCMEA) Music Festival is an event which unites students from all over the Suffolk County in grades 5 and 6 to gather for a few rehearsals and a performance of fabulous music.
Who can participate?
The festival is offering students the opportunity to be in Band, Chorus or Orchestra. Being chosen to represent Remsenburg – Speonk Elementary School in the SCMEA Music Festival is an honor and we offer congratulations to all who were nominated.
How do you get selected?
Students will be nominated by Ms. Quigg, based on their musical ability and character, in October. If selected by SCMEA to be a participant, students are expected to practice their music with Ms. Quigg to be prepared for the joint rehearsals. We will be notified in November/December and the festival takes place in March.
